An Encumbrance Certificate contains information regarding transactions like sale, purchase, gift, mortgage etc., for a said property. The Encumbrance Certificate shows all registered transactions like sale, purchase, gift, mortgage etc., for a said property. It gives an idea of who owns the property and if it was purchased, gifted, mortgaged etc.,. It is a very important document when your purchasing a new property
How to apply/Get Encumbrance Certificate?
In the State of Telangana one can apply for EC in respective Sub Registrar Office of property and one can also apply for EC in Meeseva or Eseva Centers across the state.

Understanding Encumbrance Certificate ?
An Encumbrance Certificate lists all registered transactions pertaining to the said property. The Encumbrance Certificate contains list of transaction in chronological order with latest transaction on the top. The first column list property details, the second column lists the type of transaction, the third column lists the names of parties involved in the transaction. The fourth column list the document registration number, year of registration and name of SRO where it was registered.

Uses of Online EC or Search EC?
It basically gives the users an opportunity to verify property information. The EC generated using the above links is called Information or Search EC. It is not valid for legal purposes, but gives citizens an idea about transactions pertaining to a particular property.
How much does it cost to apply for an EC ?
It costs Rs. 245/- per copy at meeseva or eseva.
